Whimsical bird marionettes with vibrant colors and intricate textures suspended by strings against an orange backdrop.

Stephan Mottram opens a box of magical surprises, featuring beautiful string puppets which come to life as soon as they are touched. Full of visual and musical surprises, this is your opportunity to see one of the masters of string puppet theatre.

The show has no speaking or narration, so it can be enjoyed by both hearing and non-hearing audience members, as well as non-English speaking audience members. There is music, specially composed by Simon Waters, Glyn Perrin and Pete McPhail.

The performance last an hour and is followed by a workshop. Join papercut specialist Sarah Manton, and artists from By Our Hands Studio, to learn how to make and manipulate you own simple puppet. You’ll discover that even the simplest puppets can tell complex stories in an exciting and entertaining way.
